they fight with the mind.

Nobody is born a warrior,
in exactly the same way that
nobody is born an average man.

We make ourselves into one or the other.

“We either make ourselves miserable,
or we make ourselves strong.

The amount of work is the same.”

The basic difference between an ordinary man and a warrior is
that a warrior takes everything as a challenge
while an ordinary man takes everything as a

BLESSING OR CURSE

“You say you need help. Help for what?

You have everything needed for
the extravagant journey that is your life.”

"Warriors do not win victories
by beating their heads
against walls, but by
overtaking the walls.
Warriors jump over wall:
they don´t demolish them.

“In a world where death is the hunter, my friend,

there is no time for regrets or doubts.

There is only time for decisions.”

The art of being a warrior is to balance
the wonder and the terror of being alive.

All paths are the same,
leading nowhere.
Therefore,
pick a path with heart.

“Anything is one of a million paths. Therefore you must always keep in mind that a path is only a path; if you feel you should not follow it, you must not stay with it under any conditions. To have such clarity you must lead a disciplined life.

Only then will you know that any path is only a path and there is no affront, to oneself or to others, in dropping it if that is what your heart tells you to do. But your decision to keep on the path or to leave it must be free of fear or ambition. I warn you. Look at every path closely and deliberately. Try it as many times as you think necessary.

This question is one that only a very old man asks. Does this path have a heart? All paths are the same: they lead nowhere. They are paths going through the bush, or into the bush. In my own life I could say I have traversed long long paths, but I am not anywhere. Does this path have a heart? If it does, the path is good; if it doesn't, it is of no use. Both paths lead nowhere; but one has a heart, the other doesn't. One makes for a joyful journey; as long as you follow it, you are one with it. The other will make you curse your life. One makes you strong; the other weakens you.

Before you embark on any path ask the question: Does this path have a heart? If the answer is no, you will know it, and then you must choose another path. The trouble is nobody asks the question; and when a man finally realizes that he has taken a path without a heart, the path is ready to kill him. At that point very few men can stop to deliberate, and leave the path. A path without a heart is never enjoyable. You have to work hard even to take it. On the other hand, a path with heart is easy; it does not make you work at liking it.”

“The most effective way to live is as a warrior. A warrior may worry and think before making any decision, but once he makes it, he goes his way, free from worries or thoughts; there will be a million other decisions still awaiting him. That's the warrior's way.”

“For me the world is weird because it is stupendous, awesome, mysterious, unfathomable; my interest has been to convince you that you must assume responsibility for being here, in this marvelous world, in this marvelous desert, in this marvelous time.

I want to convince you that you must learn to make every act count, since you are going to be here for only a short while, in fact, too short for witnessing all the marvels of it.”

There is no emptiness in the life of a warrior.
Everything is filled to the brim,
and everything is equal.

A man of knowledge lives by acting,
not by thinking of acting

To seek perfection of the warrior´s spirit
is the only task worthy of our temporariness,
our manhood.

“For an instant I think I saw.
I saw the loneliness of man as a gigantic wave
which had been frozen in front of me,
held back by the invisible wall of a metaphor.”
